* * * CORONA VIRUS * * *
We are still taking precautions with your health and ours. We take lateral flow tests twice weekly and ask you to do the same. Please do not book or attend an appointment if you have been in contact with anyone who has Covid-19, or if you have any symptoms of a common cold.
Telephone assessments and Zoom video consultations. Are still being offerred. They can be very beneficial for a wide range of conditions.
Corona Virus Rehabilitation
We are able to help people in their recovery. This may be to improve their breathing, but also with their strength, balance, mobility and confidence. The initial sessions can start as soon as people are discharged from hospital via a Zoom video call.
Motivational Interviewing
This is to be recommended for anyone treating OH clients! Very interesting, with subtle, but immediately useable strategies to enable & energise patients to improve their health & recover from injury quickly & fully!
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Training
Just been on a CBT training course for Physios, organised by ACPOHE. Extremely interesting! I think that, even as experienced Physios, it is good to stop and think about how we can improve our communication with clients and recognise potentially difficult cases. I will be feeding back to the other BOTP Associates very soon!
Breathing Disorders
Many people don't realise that Chartered Physiotherapists learn Respiratory Physiotherapy as part of their Physio Degree. This involves working on actute hospital wards too. Keith has also trained with Leon Chaitow to learn more about Breathing Pattern Disorders. Book with Keith if you feel that your breathing isn't as good as it should be.
Recent Training on Visceral Manipulation
Completely AMAZED at the effects we can have by working with the internal organs. Extensive training from The Barral Institute over the last 7-8 years has greatly added to Keith's Physiotherapy skill base. He uses it for many problems now including digestive disorders, scar pains, chronic pelvic pain, whiplash and nerve pains. Check out www.barralinstitute.co.uk
Recent training on Nerve Manipulation
Again very interesting and immediately put into use on a daily basis. Separate courses completed in lower limb, upper limb and central nervous system treatment techniques.
Recent Training on Structural Integration
A different way to analyse anatomy and strategise the treatments that will benefit a patient. From foot pain to headaches! It's been a fascinating set of 10 courses over the past 4 years or so. After analysis of posture, shape & movement the myofascial release techniques employed become far more beneficial.
Just got back from the Badminton World Team Championships in Helsinki. (Sudirman Cup).
Great group of Players & Coaches to work with. Some really good performances too! Unfortunately we were in a very restricted 'bubble', so didn't get to see much of Finland. Approximately non of it! :-( But no-one caught Covid :-)

Back On Track Physiotherapy Ltd Running Analysis
Getting injured when running, or is it just harder than it should be? Talk to us about a running gait check and a biomechanical 'screening' session. Sometimes a few stretches or running 'drills' can sort problems out.
Our Physios looking after Team GB
September saw the Duathlon World Championships in France. The Sports Physio side of Back On Track Physiotherapy looked after the Team GB Elite squad. They had a good competition winning silver in the Women's and a brace of gold medals in the Under 19's. Very promising for the future of British Triathlon and Duathlon.
BOTP help out during The Olympics
It was nice to be back in elite sport again through July and August where I used to do work with England Badminton. Great to see a lot of old faces and a host of new players coming through. I think the next 4 year 'Olympic cycle' will see a strong showing from our players. It's back to 'the day job' now!
